Testimonials for Brain Injury Court Cases
Our outcome literally changed the direction of our lives
Due to faulty electrical work by an outside company, my husband suffered a brain injury during an accident while at work. We subsequently filed a personal injury suit represented by another law firm. With the sole breadwinner disabled, and four small children, three with special needs, we were easy targets for an unscrupulous insurance agency or a self-interested attorney. The case did not settle quickly and it appeared we were headed for litigation. At that point, Andrew Abraham, and his firm, was asked to join the case. Little did we know that decision would change the direction of our case and subsequently, the direction of our lives.
Andrew was brilliant, hard working, innovative and honest (!) from the start. He purposely kept his caseload small so that he could devote the time and attention needed to maximize the potential of our case. He evaluated our case and told us our strong points and conversely our weaknesses. He worked feverishly to bring out the truth by plugging any holes and to sure up our advantages. He and his partner, Paul Baker was accessible continuously throughout the duration of our case. Andrew was ready for every detail and every deadline, even when there was a strong possibility of others moving the deadline. Whenever the insurance company, or their (unscrupulous) "experts" tried to sway, or more accurately twist, the details of the case it was unnerving for us. However, that's when I believe Andrew would get re-energized. That's when his own expertise, innovation, and determination would shine, anew!
I noted several times during our case that Andrew could have "advised", or pressured, us in a direction that would have been not only easier but also more financially expedient for him.

Grateful for how they treated me, worked hard for me, and fought for me all the way
I was a roofer working at a residential construction site when I fell from scaffolding. This staging was dangerous and, when I fell from 30 feet, I landed on a concrete pad. I broke my pelvis and wrist, and damaged my shoulder and lower back. I was airlifted to a Boston hospital. Over the next few years, I had many surgeries. At 23 years old, I was not physically able to go back to work. The only way I had ever earned a living was in the trades, but because of my injuries I couldn’t go back to working on construction sites.
Attorney Paul Baker handled my case from the beginning. No one was willing to take responsibility for what happened on this jobsite, and the insurance company lawyers fought us every step of the way. The case took a long time, but Attorney Baker always let me know what was happening, and I felt like I was involved every step of the way.
My case went to trial in front of a jury in Plymouth County. Both of the partners from Baker & Abraham were involved in the trial—Paul Baker and Andrew Abraham did a fantastic job of explaining to the jury what happened at this worksite, what caused my fall, and what happened to me because of it. The lawyers on the other side of the case tried to blame me for the bad staging. Attorney Baker fought back, showing the jury how the general contractor had broken many of the laws that control construction sites. In fact, he got the president of one of the contracting companies to admit they had broken these rules. He also showed the jury what was wrong with the staging, and whose fault it was. Attorney Abraham used two doctors as expert witnesses, to explain my injuries to the jury and help them understand how these injuries affect me.
One of the two companies settled during the trial, but the other chose not to. In the end, the jury found in my favor. While I was leaving the courthouse, one of the court officers told me that the jury’s verdict may be the biggest one ever in Plymouth County. There is no way that this verdict could have happened without the hard work and dedication of Paul Baker and Andrew Abraham. I will always be grateful to Paul and Andy for how they treated me, how hard they worked for me, and how they fought for me all the way through the end of my trial.

If you ever find yourself in a situation when you need an attorney, we know a couple of great ones who we call our friends, Baker & Abraham.
My family and I would like to sincerely thank Paul Baker and Andrew Abraham for their dedication to our case. We were a young family living pay check to paycheck without any savings. I was involved in a tractor trailer accident and had both of my legs crushed. It was a scary time. My injuries were severe. I was worried I would not be able to provide for my family financially for a very long time. I spent some of my time in a hospital that was located two and a half hours away. After speaking with many attorneys who would not take the case, it was getting very frustrating. Paul Baker drove out to meet me personally instead of a simple phone call. We knew immediately, Andrew Abraham and Paul Baker were right for us. This was the kind of personal attention Paul and Andrew always gave. They started to feel like family instead of the attorneys.
They were always very professional and responsive to our many phone calls and questions. We had many. They walked us through every step of the process. They would carry out a few scenarios at a time, break them down and analyze them. This would prepare them and us for what would be ahead. They were always thinking outside the box. We don’t have many worries any longer. If you ever find yourself in a situation when you need an attorney, we know a couple of great ones who we call our friends, Baker & Abraham. Tell them Joe and De said hello.
Thanks guys,
Joe & Dee

Baker & Abraham fought back, and helped the jury find the truth
I lost a portion of my arm when I was sucked into a wood chipper. The incident changed my life forever, and I was not sure what I was going to do. Baker & Abraham made a real difference in my life. I Iive in New Hampshire, about 2 hours away from Boston. Attorney Abraham took the time to meet me and my wife and explain to us the whole process. He always returned my phone calls and answered my questions, so I could understand what was going on. This was my first experience with the legal system, and it was scary, especially going up against one of the largest wood chipper manufacturers in the world. The attorneys and staff at Baker & Abraham made me feel comfortable the whole way. He treated me with respect, and I now consider him a friend.
The firm really ran with my case. Attorney Abraham travelled across the country to examine the key witnesses and to find the right experts. The firm forced the company to make public how many people had been injured in the past on their wood chippers—the first time any lawyer was able to get that information from them.
This company had a history of making low-ball offers and forcing injured people to take the case to trial. When we went to trial, I was nervous. I am not able to work and my future was at stake. The firm let me know what to expect at trial. Once the trial began, I felt a sense of relief. Even though the details were complicated, Attorney Abraham explained to the jury what the company had done wrong in a straightforward and understandable way. Attorney Abraham hammered away at their safety expert, forcing him to admit that they could have made this machine safer but chose not to. After losing so badly at trial, the company finally made a real offer. I understood that this was the first time in 17 years that this company had settled a case during trial, and I believe the firm’s job at trial was the main reason.
The trial gave me a sense that I was fighting back, and the partners at Baker & Abraham fought really hard for me. The company had tried to blame everything on me, and that always made me mad. It was bad enough their machine took my arm, but now they were trying to say I was careless. That hit me in the gut. But Andrew Abraham and Paul Baker fought back, and helped the jury find the truth.
Even better, after the trial some of the jurors went up to the safety expert and told him to make a safer machine. It was like they were telling the manufacturer that I was right and they were wrong. I can only hope that the company will listen and my case will save someone else from having to go through what I did.
